Mahishasur Mardini Mata is the form that is worshiped in Bengal and eastern India during the Puja festival. That Rudra form of Durga Mata in which she is killing the asur and half of the asur's body is of buffalo and half of that of asur. This form of Mata is going to give victory over the enemies. In this, Mata is seen sitting on her lion in an angry posture and ready to kill the Asur. Apart from giving victory, this form also destroys adversity and is also a provider of splendor and opulence.
